Hydro Jetting Services in Cincinnati
Scour the Line. Not Just the Clog.
When grease, roots, and buildup keep coming back, hydro jetting cleans your drain and sewer lines wall to wall with high-pressure water, so the line stays clear longer.
A Deep Clean for Your Drain and Sewer Lines
Hydro jetting sends a stream of high-pressure water through your drain or sewer line using a specialized hose and nozzle. The nozzle sprays forward to break up the blockage and backward to scrub the pipe walls, then flushes everything out to the main.
A standard drain snake punches a hole through a clog so water can flow again. Hydro jetting goes further. It cleans grease, scale, sludge, and small roots off the inside of the pipe, which is why lines that have been jetted tend to stay clear much longer.
- Cleans the full width of the pipe, not just the center
- Uses only water, no harsh chemicals
- Camera inspection first to make sure your pipe can handle it
- Licensed master plumbers, family owned since 1951

Signs You Need Hydro Jetting
Hydro jetting is the answer when a regular drain cleaning is not enough. Watch for these signs.
Clogs That Keep Coming Back
If a drain was snaked and backed up again weeks later, buildup on the pipe walls is likely catching debris.
Slow Drains All Over the House
Several slow fixtures at once point to buildup in the main line, not a single drain.
Basement Floor Drain Backups
Water coming up through the floor drain often means the main sewer line is narrowing.
Gurgling and Sewer Odors
Gurgling toilets and a sewer smell mean waste and gas are not moving through the line the way they should.
Kitchen Grease Buildup
Years of grease harden inside kitchen lines. A snake pokes through it, but jetting washes it away.
Roots Found on Camera
When a camera inspection shows small roots or heavy buildup, jetting clears them from the pipe walls.
Why Cincinnati Drain Lines Need Hydro Jetting
Most of the homes we work in are 80 years old or more. Older pipe, mature trees, and decades of use create buildup that a snake alone cannot remove.
Older Clay and Cast Iron Lines
Original sewer lines in neighborhoods like Hyde Park, Oakley, and Norwood have rough interiors that grab debris. Jetting smooths away the buildup.
Tree Roots on Tree-Lined Streets
Mature trees in Indian Hill, Wyoming, and Madeira send fine roots into sewer joints. Jetting cuts and flushes small root growth from the line.
Scale in Cast Iron Drains
Decades-old cast iron corrodes and scales on the inside, slowly narrowing the pipe until clogs become routine.
Grease From Busy Kitchens
Home kitchens, restaurants, and multi-unit buildings send grease down the line that hardens into a thick coating.
Heavy Rain and Backups
When storms push water through older laterals, any buildup inside the line makes basement backups more likely.
Years Without Maintenance
Lines that have never been cleaned beyond the occasional snaking often carry years of sludge that only jetting removes.

Hydro Jetting vs. Snaking
Both clear clogs. The difference is how much of the pipe gets cleaned.
| Drain Snake | Hydro Jetting | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | A cable bores through the clog | High-pressure water cleans the whole pipe |
| Grease and sludge | Opens a path through it | Washes it off the pipe walls |
| Small roots | Cuts a path | Cuts and flushes them out |
| How long it lasts | Good for simple clogs | Line stays clear longer |
| Best for | One-time clogs in a single drain | Recurring clogs and main lines |
Not every drain needs jetting. For a simple clog, a standard drain cleaning may be all you need, and we will tell you which one makes sense.

When Jetting Is Not the Whole Fix
If the camera shows a cracked, sagging, or collapsed line, jetting will not fix it. Because Halpin handles drain cleaning, camera inspection, and excavation in-house, the same team can take you from diagnosis to repair.
Hydro Jetting for Cincinnati Businesses
For busy buildings, jetting on a regular schedule helps prevent the backups that shut down a restroom, a kitchen, or a whole floor.

Restaurants
Grease lines clog fast. Jetting washes grease off the pipe walls instead of punching a small hole through it.
Multi-Unit & Landlords
Shared main lines carry waste from every unit. Periodic jetting keeps backups from reaching your tenants.
Offices & Retail
Keep restrooms and break rooms working with maintenance jetting scheduled around your business hours.

Hydro Jetting FAQs
Do not see your question? Call us and ask. You will get a plumber on the phone, not a script.
What is hydro jetting?
Hydro jetting uses a high-pressure stream of water to clean the inside of drain and sewer lines. It breaks up clogs and scrubs grease, scale, sludge, and small roots off the pipe walls, then flushes it all out.
Is hydro jetting safe for old pipes?
For pipes in good condition, yes. A cracked or deteriorated pipe can be damaged by high pressure, so we inspect the line with a camera before we jet. If the pipe is not a good candidate, we will tell you and talk through other options.
What is the difference between hydro jetting and snaking?
A snake bores a hole through a clog so water can flow. Hydro jetting cleans the full width of the pipe, so grease and buildup are removed instead of left behind. For recurring clogs, jetting usually lasts longer.
How much does hydro jetting cost?
It depends on the length of the line, how much buildup there is, and how easy the line is to access. We quote up front, so you know the price before any work starts, and you can take $45 off any drain cleaning.
Can hydro jetting remove tree roots?
Hydro jetting cuts and flushes out small root growth. Large, established roots or roots that have broken the pipe may need a root cutter or a sewer repair, which a camera inspection will show.
How often should a sewer line be jetted?
It depends on your home or building. Lines with heavy grease or recurring root growth may benefit from regular maintenance jetting. After we see your line, we can recommend a schedule.
Do you offer commercial hydro jetting?
Yes. We jet lines for restaurants, multi-unit buildings, offices, and retail spaces across Cincinnati.
Do you offer emergency service?
Yes. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and we run emergency service outside those hours. If sewage is backing up, call us rather than booking online.
